What do you guys think?

I'm a new member so i'll do a short intro of myself. When i found out about the announcement of D3 i became very excited. I purchased diablo 1 over 10 years ago and played the game as a kid and i fell in love with it.

Recently i started playing d1 again. In d1, there is no magic find. In Diablo 2 Items, they introduced magic find. I liked the absence of +mf modifiers in d1 because it meant that you could potentially find EVERYTHING. In the few weeks i've been playing d1 i've already found a decent amount of rare items, including a windforce!!

In Diablo 2 Items, they introduced magic find, and even with a mf dedicated character, finding the most godly items in the game can seem almost impossible (without the use of bots).

My Diablo 2 Items experience is mainly before duping existed (v1.08). Before duping, even items that weren't so "godly" could be hard to find or expensive to trade for. After duping, good items became almost abundant. People that have only played v1.09 and later probably won't understand where i'm coming from. The introduction of duping really changed the way the game felt/played.

In summary, i liked the absence of magic find in D1 because finding good items, although difficult, seemed tangible. In Diablo 2 Items, it seemed like finding the items you want was always out of reach, no matter how good your MF character was. D1 just seemed so much more satisfying in that aspect.

What do you guys think?

Oh, and i understand that having something such as magic find can increase the variety of character builds and slightly increase the replay value. But all i ask is that they make finding rare items a bit less out of reach, compared to Diablo 2 Items
